At an event in New York, DJI has taken the wrappers off of its latest play thing - the DJI Osmo Pocket. The size of the Osmo Pocket is 1.51 x 1.12 x 1.45-inches. Using a new app, Mimo, you can access even more creative features and editing when linked up to the Pocket Osmo. The Osmo Pocket 3-axis can capture your real time moments in 4K video at 60 frames per second. It packs dual microphones for audio, and you can snap 12MP still images with it. As for the battery life, DJI says if you record 4K videos at 30fps, the Osmo Pocket can last about two hours. In other words, the camera is capable of maintaining a level and smooth recording angle, no matter how jittery your hands are or how active your recording at the time is. Osmo Pocket supports microSD cards in capacities up to 256GB. Luckily, the Osmo Pocket pairs with something else you might have in your pocket: a phone.

The Osmo Pocket also features a universal port under the touchscreen that's created to allow users to connect their mobile devices (there's connectivity for both iOS Lightning and USB-C).

If you don't want to rely on the Osmo Pocket's lilliputian screen, you can connect the Pocket to an Android or iOS device; it ships with two connectors that snap into a slot right below its display. The Osmo Pocket is equipped with DJI's ActiveTrack feature, which trains the Smartphone camera lens to follow a subject and has been available in its mobile app for a while.

Pro Mode - If you want even more control over your content, "Pro mode" gives you access to camera setting adjustments and exposure settings to let you create exactly how you want, from rich video in bright conditions to a flawless handheld long exposure photo at night. This is all in addition to the shooting controls and live viewfinder.

Unveiled in time for Christmas, the curtain came up on this compact and intelligent piece of kit at an eagerly-awaited launch event in NY today, following a heap of social-media expectation and guessing games. The pre-orders will start shipping on December 15th.
