Far Cry goes post-apocalyptic in next game

There's going to be a lot of fallout from this teaser

Naturally, we watch it every year.

Tune into the Game Awards for the world premiere of the next Far Cry.

Ubisoft has unexpectedly released a teaser video for an upcoming new Far Cry game, seemingly set after the events of Far Cry 5. However, given that the event doesn't start until tomorrow, the company has made a decision to publish a brief teaser trailer to get its fans hyped about what is clearly a new Far Cry title. We'll know plenty more when this next apparent spinoff is shown again at The Game Awards. Some players were turned right the fuck off by that nihilistic ending ("What the hell was the point of all this, then?"); others embraced the inherent bleakness of the whole thing ("Haha, there was really no point to any of this, then!"). As you may remember, Far Cry 5 ended in Hope County essentially blowing out, so it looks like that could be continued. Though the brief look doesn't explicitly say the announcement is connected with Far Cry 5 or that it's explicitly Far Cry 6, the setting of this new game or expansion appears similar to be similar to the latest game in the series.

Given the short time span between this tease and Far Cry 5, it's fairly unlikely that this title will be a full-fat Far Cry experience.

Guess we'll find out tomorrow night!
