Being bigger than the regular 1500, the HD comes at the interior with an additional 3 inches of legroom on crew cab models and a taller seating position.

"We set out to make a statement with the 2020 Silverado HD and wanted to visually capture the power and capability of the truck", said Silverado HD lead exterior designer, Brian Izard.

Billed by the company as their "most capable, most advanced Silverado Heavy Duty ever", the new Silverado HD serves as the company's third all-new pickup in 18 months and is tailor-made for grueling tasks and jobs. So if you're 6-foot-6 and need a new truck, look no further than the Silverado HD. The high bed can be accessed by a novel new integrated side step that's fitted to the forward part of the bedside. The other has a turbodiesel V8 engine with an Allison 10-speed transmission, which has a prodigious 910 lb. -ft. of torque.

That momentum is expected to continue with the launches of the new Colorado ZR2 Bison, all-new Silverado 1500, the all-new Silverado Medium-Duty trucks and now the all-new Silverado HD models.

GM's focus on understanding truck customers has helped build the most successful truck franchise in the industry over the last four years. Chevy says that the Silverado HD will see "significant increases" when it comes to payload and towing-the brand surely wants to best the class-leading Ford F-Series Super Duty's maximum towing figures.

Hot on the heels of Chevrolet's completely redesigned 2019 Silverado 1500 pickup truck, the automaker has unveiled the next biggest model in its full-size lineup. Chevrolet told us that the Silverado HD will not be on display at the Detroit auto show in January.
