Overwatch also just got a new patch, which buffs Reaper, whose Life Steal rises from 30% damage dealt to 50%, and nerfs Brigitte, whose Rally ability now lasts for 30 seconds.
Interestingly enough in that same Revelations web comic, there appears to be an image of Ana and Soldier 76 holed up in the apartment hunting Adbul Hakim reminiscing over the photograph of Soldier 76 and Vincent. That's a total of eight new rewards on offer, all inspired by the new "Bastet" short story that debuted on Monday. Vincent. "Vincent... I haven't thought about him in years", Ana said.
Fans are elated to finally have confirmation of another queer hero in Overwatch, and many are already requesting the addition of Soldier: 76 voice lines confirming his identity as a gay man. Ana asks Jack if he still holds a candle for Vincent, but Jack denies it, saying "Vincent deserved a happier life than the one I could give him". Jack shook his head.
You can take a look at Jack and Vincent sharing happier times below, as well as the accompanying page on which his tale of heartbreak unfolds. You must have been curious. Hopefully, developer Blizzard will soon add such material to the game, though I'm doubtful they'll adopt any of the lines Twitter users are suggesting. Jack sighed. "We both knew that I could never put anything above my duty". "Relationships don't work out so well for us, do they?"
It reads as somewhat strategic that players can continue to play as Tracer and Soldier 76 without any awareness of their canonical sexual orientations. According to Polygon, this isn't the first time we've seen this photo of Soldier: 76 and Vincent, either - it was first shown off in the comic "Reflections", which if you remember introduced Tracer as having a girlfriend. Jack doesn't specifically state in the story that he is only interested in men, but Chu has since confirmed via Twitter that everyone's favourite grumpy socks-and-sandals disaster identifies as gay.
