Bayern announced the signing of 2018 FIFA World Cup victor Benjamin Pavard from Stuttgart for the 2018/2019 campaign, but they now have their sights on the Blues' highly-rated Callum Hudson-Odoi.
But Murphy believes Hudson-Odoi is technically gifted and the player should leave Chelsea for Bayern if he wants to have more playing time.
Bayern Munich have made no secret of their desire to sign Hudson-Odoi, with sporting director Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic confirming on Wednesday that the club are working on a deal.
Hudson-Odoi has become frustrated with the limited first-team opportunities available in the Premier League and has spotted an opening in the Bundesliga.
Hudson-Odoi has featured in just one Premier League match this season, but played the full 90 minutes in Chelsea's 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup third round last weekend.
But according to Rudiger, the England Under-19 worldwide is seemingly contemplating life in Germany.
'It was a general question from him.
He then started and impressed again in Chelsea loss to Tottenham in the semi-final, first leg of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night. But at the end of the day he decides about his future. You can see it from both sides. What I can say: We like the player and take a great interest in signing him.
"I see in him a really good player who would certainly be a good face to join us".
"The guy stopped, if we have to wait for VAR I think he has to continue, but he stopped in the middle of the park".
