CES 2019 kicks off on January 8 in Las Vegas US

Nvidia has always been talking up its ray tracing technology for gaming, but if you wanted to get in on the fun, you had to shell out at least $499 for an RTX 1070 (or up to a whopping $999 or more for a 2080 Ti).

The main surprise of the event could be a new graphics card or a new lineup of mobility parts which were rumored days ago from this event. What do you guys think of the RTX 2060 so far? That puts its price into perspective, but it's another example of Nvidia's push to increase the entry price of its GPU tiers. It is said to be 60 per cent faster than the GTX 1060 on current titles, even beating the GTX 1070Ti. Now you must fork over $349 for a mid-tier x60-class RTX GPU.

According to Nvidia's presentation, the video card can improve performance in pretty much every modern video game.

Nvidia is issuing several versions of RTX graphics for laptops. The RTX 2060 GPU also features 240 Tensor Cores, which can produce up to 52 Teraflops of floating-point precision processing for deep learning tasks. The new models will be available at the end of this month.

To compare with its closest relative in the product stack, Nvidia equipped the RTX 2060 with 6GB of 14Gbps GDDR6 memory, which is 2GB less than the RTX 2070 cards include. Nvidia made the announcement at a Consumer Electronics Show event, revealing that there'll be over 40 models of gaming laptops incoming that pack in the Nvidia RTX graphics card technology - bringing with it the performance boons, plus access to features like ray-tracing and DLSS, an impressive new form of AI-assisted anti-aliasing that's also exclusive to the RTX-series GeForce cards. At the keynote Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang declared "RTX is here, next gen is on", before continuing to explain his statement was intended for the masses - "For $349 you can enjoy next generation gaming", Huang said to the excited audience. The demos were gorgeous, indeed, brimming with vibrant, lifelike reflections and exquisite details. While the second piece of news was the unveiling of its new GeForce RTX-powered notebooks.

Please stay tuned to HEXUS as we will have a review of a GeForce RTX 2060 FE up here as soon as we are allowed to. There's also going to be an RTX 2060 Founder's Edition with stock specs that will be available the same day.

When the RTX 2060 launches on the 15th, you'll be able to get it bundled with either Anthem or Battlefield V so that you can get a taste of advanced features like ray tracing and DLSS right out of the box. On the other hand, those who will grab a 2080ti or 2080 will get both games to get them started on the road of RTX.
