The Pistons were without Zaza Pachulia (leg contusion), Stanley Johnson (thigh contusion) and Ish Smith (abductor muscle tear) for Tuesday night's loss in Milwaukee, and head to Memphis 0-3 to close out a four-game trip.
Grizzlies coach J.B. Bickerstaff led the team in a meeting, calling it "a conversation that needed to be had".
The incident occurred following a 101-94 home loss to the Detroit Pistons.
We'll see if this whole ordeal galvanizes the Grizzlies, who own an 18-19 record and now sit outside the Western Conference playoff picture after a surprisingly hot start to the season. Temple scored seven points on 2-of-8 shooting against the Pistons while Casspi went scoreless in just five minutes played. The Grizzlies will be back in action Friday night at home against the Brooklyn Nets. Kyle Anderson added 15 points, and Dillon Brooks put up 14 from the bench.
Memphis coaches and players gathered for a team meeting in the locker room after the game, questioning each other about their effort and what each can do to improve, league sources said.
Casspi and Temple both are in their first seasons with the Grizzlies.
Since a 12-5 start in which they were on top of the conference, the Grizzlies are 6-14.
