Barron County Sheriff's Department said earlier that the finding of Closs was a false alert.
According to a post by the department, Jayme will be reunited with her family Thursday night. Officials did not release any other information about how Closs was found.
Our NBC affiliate in Minneapolis, KARE 11 is reporting Jayme Closs, the girl missing since October since the murder of her parents, was found in a development outside of Gordon, Wisconsin in Douglas County.
"Shortly after this [finding Jayme] a suspect was taken into custody in regards to this case", the statement said. "Jayme has been found!", Kroeze posted.
Closs disappeared October 15, 2018, the same day her parents - James and Denise Closs - were found shot to death inside their Barron home.
Authorities are scheduled to attend a press conference at 10 a.m. Friday in Barron. I can't wait to get my arms around her.
Detectives have pursued thousands of tips, watched dozens of surveillance videos and spent countless hours searching for Closs since her October 15 disappearance.
Local authorities and the FBI launched an investigation into her disappearance and said at the time that they believed the teen was kidnapped. "I've always been a glass-half-full kind of guy".
"There was a lot of discouragement because this took quite a while to play out", Fladten said.
Two months after Jayme had been missing, Fitzgerald said the lack of evidence seemed to suggest that the killer or killers didn't get far in the home as investigators had not recovered any DNA evidence or fingerprints, nor did they find shoe prints inside the home. "It's like taking a big black cloud in the sky and getting rid of it and the sun comes out again".
"I have a gut feeling she's (Jayme's) still alive". "She's just so shy". "I think everybody wishes her a good recovery and a happy life going into the future".
An ongoing criminal investigation is underway at a location in Walworth County.
Douglas County is roughly 80 miles north of Barron County.
