The family members killed in the crash are 42 year old Issam Abbas, 38 year old Rima Abbas, 14 year old Ali Abbas, 13 year old Isabella Abbas and 7 year old Giselle Abbas.

The family was heading home to Northville, Michigan from a vacation in Florida.

Issam Abbas, 42, his wife, Dr. Rima Abbas, 38, and their children: Ali Abbas, 14; Isabella Abbas, 13, and Giselle Abbas, 7 were killed when a pickup truck, driven by 41-year-old Joey Lee Bailey, smashed into their vehicle, while driving in the wrong direction on I-75 around 2.30am Sunday.

According to the coroner's office, it is believe that Bailey was driving under the influence; toxicology test results are pending.

Officials remained at the scene of the collision for hours, before reopening lanes at around 7:15 a.m.

He says: "I thought it was a rumor or something and then saw it again and called his sister. She and the family are even more in denial", Abbas told the newspaper.

The City of Dearborn posted on its Instagram page identifying them as Issam and Rima Abbas, and their three children. He says the extended family was close and his cousin led a "beautiful life".

"You don't expect a whole family to get wiped out", he said. All six people involved in the crash died. He was also killed.
