Security Camera Catches Prowling Suspect Licking Doorbell For 3 Hours

"I thought, 'Oh boy, that is just weird, '" said the homeowner Sylvia Dungan. What happened in California over the weekend is a combination of all three. multiplied by 100.

A man was caught on surveillance video licking a California home's doorbell.

That's 180 minutes of straight licking.

Sylvia Dungan told local station KION-TV over the weekend the security system alerted the family to odd movement in the early morning.

Thanks to the camera system, the Dungans were alerted to the movement out front. The homeowner later found the cord at a neighbor's home.

Authorities say the footage has helped them identify the man, but he is not in custody.

"Comical in a sense, but we have to keep our eyes open make sure it's nothing more than that", said Francisco Javier Estrada, a neighbor".

"We were pleasantly surprised the image was so clear", Salina Police Department spokesman Miguel Cabrera told TV station KION.

"You kind of laugh about it afterwards because, technically, he didn't harm anybody, he didn't break anything", Sylvia Dungan said. Investigators say he could face a number of charges.

In another incident captured by a home surveillance camera, Jeffrey Zeigler shot at a 14-year-old black boy who had missed his school bus and knocked at the man's home to ask for directions after becoming lost.

"This just kind of reinforces how important it is to have security within your home", she added.
