"Earlier, I used to stand up against sexism, pay disparity and nepotism in Bollywood but now, I will expose everybody". When asked about the same from Alia Bhatt during the Gully Boy promotions, she said she was not aware of this problem or anything as she was busy with the shooting.
She said "Manikarnika" was for the next generation and the film wasn't about Kangana.
Ankita Lokhande, who plays the character of Jhalkaribai in the film said, "I have loved 'Manikarnika.' and I have loved Kangana for what she is. If they get successful in promoting themselves then, it will be a huge thing for them".
Kangana Ranaut believes that she is being bullied by members of the film industry. "I am actually protecting Rani Laxmibai". "They're not even ashamed, some of these people are as old as my grandfather but they're just after me", she shared.
In 2017, on Karan Johar's chat show Koffee With Karan, Kangana had called the filmmaker "intolerant" towards outsiders and a 'flag bearer of nepotism, ' which prompted several debates and discussion within the industry. "They all have ganged up against me asking me why I have talked about nepotism", Kangana said. "All citizens of this country are living in free country". "So yes, what can I say, I don't want to upset anybody", Alia said in an interview Thursday. "I told her if she is only focusing on earning bucks and not raise a voice, then her success has no value. hope she understands the true meaning of success and her responsibilities, Napo gang life is simply restricted to give and take favours hope she rises above that". While clarifying the rumours of having issues with Kangana, the actor said that she would never do anything to upset her.
