Game Of Thrones Season 8 Teased By HBO With New Set Photos

The Mad King from Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones prequel gets a start of production date

At one point there were reports that filming would start last October, and then another report predicted a February start date - none were confirmed by HBO, however.

The full cast for the prequel had been announced, with the list including Naomi Watts and Naomi Ackie.

The prequel is created by Jane Goldman, the screenwriter of X-Men and Kingman series of films, along with the writer of the book series, George RR Martin.

The show is rumored to be called The Long Night and will take place well ahead of the plot of Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones season 8 is still a few weeks away but fans of the most-watched TV show are making all efforts to get their hands on every bit of detail related to it.

But this has been a new high watermark of secrecy as for all the hype and promos we've only seen about 3 seconds of actual footage from the highly anticipated final six episodes.

HBO has been meticulous about avoiding spoilers for its premiere franchise so it is no surprise the newly released pictures do not reveal anything beyond the characters who will be returning. Clarke has previously said on record, "There's lots of different endings that could happen; I think we're doing all of them and we aren't being told which is actually what's going to happen".

Jamie left King's Landing as winter finally arrived at the capitol at the end of the previous season of "Game of Thrones". "We're dealing with a different and older world and hopefully that will be part of the fun of the series".

With Game of Thrones coming to a close after its upcoming eighth season, HBO is looking to capitalize on its success and expand upon the series developed by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
