Jeremy Lin finalizing buyout with Hawks, to sign with Raptors

Agents Jim Tanner and Roger Montgomery told ESPN on Monday that Lin could be with the Raptors by the middle of the week. The Air Canada Centre fans, many of whom were there to witness the so-called Linsanity, erupted in a mix of disbelief and delirium.

Danny Green had the answer on the other end to tie the game, and when Joe Harris left a wide open midrange jumper short, everyone knew who was going to hunt for the game-winner. Lin has never advanced beyond the first round of the playoffs. The video of his memorably buzzer-beater in Toronto made the social media rounds. They recently traded Delon Wright, one of their backup guards, in a deal that brought in Marc Gasol from the Grizzlies.

The Raptors were without guard Fred VanVleet, who is expected to be out at least three weeks with an injured thumb. Much better defender than people think. He's an elite competitor.

"Very smart. And versatile". He appeared in 51 games for the Hawks, all but one of those as a reserve, averaging 10.7 points this season on almost 47 per cent shooting.

Atlanta was Lin's seventh team in his career. Can he be a valuable player for the Raptors down the stretch?

Kawhi Leonard banked in the go-ahead field goal with 4.2 seconds to play as he scored 30 points and added eight assists to help the Toronto Raptors to a 127-125 victory over the visiting Brooklyn Nets Monday night. He's averaged almost 20 minutes per game, scoring 10.7 points, dishing 3.5 assists and hauling down 2.3 rebounds per contest. He's been part of three previous playoff runs, in 2013 and 2014 with Houston and in 2016 with Charlotte.
