Social media is flooded with hilarious innuendos after Marks and Spencer release a 'love sausage'

Slightly truffled and wrapped in salty bacon, the meaty creation is ideal for a lovers' breakfast in bed.

You can get your own bacon-wrapped love sausage in stores from 8 Feb for £5.

The supermarket is celebrating love by launching one of the UK's most colourful flowers - the Rainbow Rose.

In a promotional shot, which has already been liked over 500 times on Twitter, the heart-shaped sausage is surrounded by tea lights and pretty pink petals to add to the romantic mood.

"Any chance you can get me some representation because of this innuendo-filled product?"

The brand announced the news today by asking its Twitter followers, "Are you ready for our Love Sausage?"

It has gotten the reaction you would expect on social media.

M&S is encouraging couples to show their love for each other with some sausage this Valentine's.

Some did not seem keen on the dish, with journalist Harriet Hall tweeting: "I think I speak for women everywhere when I say we really, really do not want a love sausage".

It went on to encourage the general public to "say it with sausages", and tag who you'll be sharing your "love sausage" with on the 14th February.

'The recipe includes a hint of delicious truffle to make it extra special and my top tip is to crack two eggs into the centre of the heart, eight minutes before serving for the breakfast of dreams'.
