Times journalist Paul Joyce reported that Henderson is due to miss the Premier League clash on Sunday, while he also said Jurgen Klopp thinks the midfielder will have to avoid the England squad for their next batch of friendlies.

The Reds spent big previous year in making Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker the record signings in their position, as well as bringing in Naby Keita, Fabinho and cut-price attacker Xherdan Shaqiri.

Jürgen Klopp has discussed his plans for the summer transfer window.

"I bet you all of the other seven teams in the draw were saying don't get Liverpool, we don't want Liverpool". We're on a very, very good run in the Bundesliga, and I hope we can go on like that'.

The Reds were also drawn against Porto in the Champions League quarter-finals on Friday and their match-up with the Portuguese side is widely regarded as the most-favourable draw of any of the remaining English teams.

"That was maybe the main problem of Liverpool for the last decade". We have to win the final and if not it will be a disaster.' It will be a disaster when you don't do what you have to do - [that is] put in absolutely everything to try it.

The team has made great strides this year as they chase their first title since 1990 but Klopp feels that even more can come from the Reds in the future.

"I think they are going through a bad phase".

Sergio Conceicao's team overcame Roma in the last round, and they have the experience of goalkeeper Iker Casillas, Pepe and Hector Herrera in their squad, but it is hard to suggest that Liverpool are anything other than overwhelming favourites to book a semifinal meeting against either Manchester United or Barcelona. I have to accept we won a lot in the past and people believe it's normal, it's not normal.

The Blues have a chance to move within a single point of Tottenham for third-place if they can defeat Everton on the road, and the Reds can surpass Man City at the top of the league by defeating Fulham. I'm pretty sure our fans know it.

"The boys have so much space for improvement in all departments".
