"But we should look for quality players, definitely, and players who could improve us as a team".
"You're always measured on results but we played a good game against Arsenal, [we've] played so much worse and won games and that's the odd thing when you're a manager you can look behind the result and say that was a good performance didn't get what we deserved", Solskjaer said in his pre-match press conference.
Solskjaer scored the dramatic victor in the 1999 final as United struck twice in injury-time to beat Bayern Munich 2-1 in Barcelona and become champions of Europe for the second time in their history.
For the first time since the 2009 Champions League quarter-finals, four English clubs have place settings at the top table of European football.
"The confidence in the players, it's sky high", he said.
"I believe he's got the chance to have a great future".
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer resisted the urge to draw too many comparisons with Manchester United's treble-winning season in 1998/99 but admitted that there are similarities.
There have also been wins at Chelsea, Tottenham and PSG in recent months, so the suggestion that Solskjaer has got lucky has naturally worn thin.
"You're always measured on results but we played a good game against Arsenal", he told a media conference.
"I think I've answered that question quite well here", he said with a smile.
"And that's maybe the only good thing about that Arsenal defeat, to feel how much it hurt".
