Game of Thrones left off on one heckuva cliffhanger with "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms", with basically everyone at Winterfell preparing for imminent death at the hands of the Night King's army - with the exception of those hiding out in the crypts of course, which, we are assured, are a super safest place to be!

Does Ser Brienne finally getting her knighthood signal the end of her story? Here are the characters who we're most anxious about in next week's big episode.

Winterfell goes to war in the new photos from the third episode of Game of Thrones season eight, which HBO released on Thursday.

While it may bring a tear to your eye that Game of Thrones is nearly over, at least your Mondays are now filled with fire-breathing, white-walker fighting excitement for the next few weeks.

Samwell Tarly: Won't be fighting in the Battle of Winterfell.

The army of the living are set to begin their battle with the Night King. We're all going to ugly cry. I'm also curious to see how Ser Jorah Mormont will use the Valerian steel given to him by Sam.

On Tuesday, Williams herself shared a response to the moment, writing, "If u feel uncomfortable just know that my mother and my step dad and my 2 sisters and my 4 brothers have all probably watched this too".

Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) are shown overlooking the battle atop a hilltop in the distance. Gamblers have even begun placing wagers on who will die and when. Standing right beside her, is Jaime Lannister, as he had promised. Jon Snow has prophecies to fulfil and killing him off at this stage wouldn't make much sense.

It's always been kind of implied that Arya had a crush on Gendry all the way back in season two, but many fans were not expecting Arya to lose her virginity with him once they reunited at Winterfell.

HBO isn't about to spoil anything major that happens in the episode by releasing any revealing photos, so most of these are pretty standard.

Ready to make their last, heroic stands are Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, seen in the above image looking down at the lit-up castle and the troops arrayed to protect it. But it may lead to her end earlier than anyone else. Say your good-byes now, folks!
