Wu, 37, went on to explain that she understood her Friday night tweets - where she said she was, "So upset right now that I'm literally crying" and "F-king hell, ' - seemed like they may be about the ABC show". Here's what you need to know about the actress, the incident, and her net worth.
There was a lot of social media conversation regarding what Wu was upset about and why.
Wu saw her stardom soar in the past year with her lead role in "Crazy Rich Asians", a major hit that got her a Golden Globe nomination.
However, what's gone is any direct connection between her social media and Fresh Off the Boat.
"But if one does have privilege, they ought to use that privilege as best they can", she adds.
On Friday, ABC announced that the comedy series had been renewed for a sixth season.
After the network revealed the show would be coming back for another season, Constance took to her Twitter to share that she was very upset. When another tweeter responded that her comedy's renewal is "great news", Wu responded in a since-deleted tweet, "No it's not".
Fans and critics alike were, understandably, surprised by Wu's comments. Wu's rep did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment. "I was temporarily upset yesterday not because I hate the show but because it's renewal meant I had to give up another project that I was really passionate about", she wrote.
"Todays tweets were on the heels of rough day&were ill timed w/the news of the show (sic)", she posted on Twitter on Friday.
"I love [Fresh Off the Boat]".

In Saturday's follow-up, Wu wrote that people "assumed" her original remarks "meant I don't love and enjoy fresh off the boat but I do love and enjoy it".
Given that she's still at an early stage in her career, there isn't a lot of information out there about Wu's net worth. It got back to the, and her publicist told her to retract her statement and make the public think they're insane for assuming something that she clearly said. Perhaps the project she had to pass on would have brought a big boost to that number, but it looks like we'll never know now.
ArticleBio, along with a few other sources, put Wu's estimated net worth around $2 million.
