The game is a story-driven four-player cooperative experience. The game's central antagonist will be Wildlands' Cole D. Walker, portrayed by The Punisher's Jon Bernthal, who's betrayed his team and gone off the grid.
A comment on Reddit pointed to rumored details about the unconfirmed game, including that it will release on October 4, 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Walker commands an army of weaponised drones, and appears to have bumped off Holt, Midas, and Weaver.
The leak came as an image that was reportedly taken from a listing on Ubisoft's online store, revealing the game's title.
Ubisoft recently confirmed it will release four new AAA games in the fiscal year ending March 2020.
At this point, it's probably safe to assume that many people were expecting Ubisoft to announce a new Splinter Cell game, seeing as how it's been over five years since the last instalment. As with any Ubisoft games on Steam, you always have to launch the game through Ubisoft's platform anyway, so this exclusive deal shouldn't make life any more complex for PC gamers.
