The skip of Steam isn't exactly a major shock since Ubisoft and Epic Games have a deal. It's up to the Ghosts to take it back.
Have a look at the first screens and trailers, along with the announcement below. "Tom Clancy is pure fiction".
For Ubisoft's games, presumably including Ghost Recon Breakpoint, the question of which storefront you buy from is slightly academic, since no matter where you purchase the title, you have to play it through Ubisoft's Uplay client. Ghost Recon Breakpoint is set to be a followup to Wildlands, focusing on co-op gameplay once again and taking players out of the cartel-infested desert and throwing them on to a tropical island.
"Ghost Recon Breakpoint" maintains its predecessor's focus as an open world action game with extensive military and survival trappings; battlefield injuries are to be more closely simulated, providing an online multiplayer for squads of four to careen around in. Auroa is where technologically advanced facilities meet wild, untamed nature. Home to drone creators, tech giant Skell Technology, Auroa has fallen into the wrong hands and all contact has been lost.
The Wolves, a lethal ex-US Military unit of former Ghosts gone rogue, have taken over the island.
In Breakpoint, players will be exploring the island of Auroa.
Initially, Ubisoft did list both games on Steam before moving them to Epic's service. The game is also set to feature post-launch support not unlike Wildlands, with regular updates featuring story arcs, classes, features, and more.
Ubisoft is gearing up to reveal something spectacular and Ghost Recon related later today leading on from the recent free DLC missions added to Ghost Recon Wildlands recently.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is available in Standard, Gold, and Ultimate Editions, with the Gold and Ultimate Editions granting three-day early access starting October 1, 2019. That means, if you pre-order the game, you will receive all of the listed goods, but also receive a brand new Assault Rifle, VALOR.
