Yahoo Sources: Los Angeles Lakers and Tyronn Lue in the process of working toward agreement that would make him the franchise's next head coach.

Former Pacers and Magic head coach Frank Vogel could join Lue's coaching staff if the deal is made official, according to the report.

Lue coached LeBron James in Cleveland, and has a rapport with the megastar. In Cleveland, the two enjoyed great success, including winning the 2016 National Basketball Association championship.

Lue was spotted in Las Vegas celebrating his birthday over the weekend with a Los Angeles Lakers-themed birthday cake. However, there is an even bigger name at the top of his wishlist in former Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau.

Isola writes that LeBron's camp has let Thibodeau know that he would be a "huge asset to have on the bench".

The reports of Lue wanting to add his former colleague in Boston, Tom Thibodeau, to his coaching staff are also true. LeBron's close associates were gauging Thibodeau's interest in becoming a top assistant two weeks ago. Thibodeau has the resume and income to be patient.

Head coach Tyronn Lue of the Cleveland Cavaliers reacts against the Golden State Warriors in the second quarter during Game Three of the 2018 NBA Finals at Quicken Loans Arena on June 6, 2018 in Cleveland, Ohio. However, that same person told Isola that LeBron has the "utmost respect" for Thibodeau. Both would be great for the job, as they share a unique relationship with James.
