Carlotta McCleary, executive director of Mental Health America of North Dakota, says at any given time, one in five young people have a mental health condition, showing just how common this issue is.

Edwards is hopeful his research will help identify high-risk groups and be used by upper levels of government to create policy that improves mental health services for Canadian immigrant and refugees.
