Eto'o: Salah has to sign for Barcelona

Mohamed Salah has taken the footballing world by storm since joining Liverpool from Roma for an initial fee of £36.9million in 2017.

The Catalan giants are desperate to emulate Salah's current employers and lift the Champions League trophy, which they haven't done since 2015.

Liverpool FC fans will be hoping that Salah will stay committed to the Merseyside outfit for the immediate future at the very least.

And while we're all watching the Reds kick up a storm in worldwide friendlies, Samuel Eto'o has made a decision to add to our general summer tension by suggesting that Mohamed Salah might not be a ideal fit for Real Madrid-the club he's been linked to by filthy rumours for the past month.

"Barcelona would be a better fit", he added.

Salah was on Madrid's shortlist for a while but now they've signed Eden Hazard, it appears a move for the Egyptian is unlikely.

"Real [Madrid] gave me the opportunity to leave Africa, but I know Barcelona's style and I think it would be better for him", the former Barca and Real striker told the BBC. Additionally, the club is always among the favourites to win the Champions league and most importantly, Salah will have the guidance of arguably world's best player Lionel Messi.

"But a lot of players find it hard to say no when Real Madrid and Barcelona go after you".

"We saw that in the past with Luiz Suarez and Philippe Coutinho and even though they enjoyed playing for Liverpool, their heads were turned when Barcelona wanted them".

Barcelona are again looking to improve their squad having been embarrassingly ousted in the last four of Europe by Salah's Liverpool.

"Their heads were turned when Barcelona wanted them".
