Firpo made 29 appearances in the 2018-19 season for Betis, scoring thrice and providing five assists, which included a couple in Betis' stellar win over Barcelona past year. Back in the winter transfer window of January 2018, Philippe Coutinho made a sensational move from Liverpool to Barcelona in a £142 million deal with the solitary aim of winning titles and especially achieving continental glory by winning the Champions League.

Barcelona's worst transfer in recent history has arguably been that of Philippe Coutinho.

Philippe Coutinho was unable to shed any light on his club future after playing for Brazil in Tuesday night's Copa America clash with Venezuela, simply saying that he doesn't know if he'll be staying with Barcelona.

However, the former Inter Milan midfielder has failed to justify that staggering price tag, and has been the subject of rumours linking him with an exit from the Camp Nou over the past few months as a result.

Firpo's release clause is around £45m (€50m) but it is thought that the Spanish side will not up much of a fight to prevent their talent from moving to the Premier League.

According to the Daily Mail, there is interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United, while Paris Saint-Germain have been linked in the past.

The forward has three goals in his last three appearances.

Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Jesus were all denied strikes as the hosts dropped two points in their second group stage game, although they remain top of Group A on goal difference from Peru.
