Doh! Valve Apologizes After E. Honda Street Fighter DLC Leaks On Steam

It's not unheard of for publishers to accidentally leak announcements but this snafu is Valve's fault, and the company has admitted as much in a mea culpa issued this weekend. Yes, you read it right, E. Honda is coming to Street Fighter V. Poison described as "leading lashing lady [that] has a whip that won't quit and enjoys serving her Poison Cocktail, a Molotov-inspired V-Trigger that literally blazes through her opponent's health". The trailer includes the major reveal of Poison, Lucia, and E. Honda as characters joining the fighter roster. Poison will still largely play like her Ultra Street Fighter 4 counterpart, although she does have a longer whip this time around, and E. Honda will always use sumo techniques and have some risky throws that can change the tide of a match quickly.

Late yesterday afternoon, Valve formally apologized to Capcom and Street Fighter fans for the incident. He explains that "there was a mix-up in the publishing process at Valve that caused a trailer to go live on Steam ahead of schedule..." Sorry. We'll try not to let it happen again. The tournament runs for three days, and the DLC was supposed to be available on the final day of Evo 2019.

Edmond Honda, a talented sumo wrestler, has been a part of the fighting game series since Street Fighter II and also appeared in Street Fighter IV. She wouldn't be playable in the series until Street Fighter X Tekken.

Lucia Morgan is a returning character from Final Fight 3, and a police officer in Metro City. She made her Street Fighter debut in Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact but only as a cameo. She won't be best for beginners, but this will be a fun character for fighting game fans to use to shake up the competitive meta going forward. Both Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition and Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Deluxe are also 50% off. All three are great additions to Arcade Edition's roster and will provide something unique among the growing list of characters.
