Ninja "disgusted" after Twitch promotes porn on his old channel

But Ninja's Twitch account still remains, and is, as PC Gamer reports, was being used to host other popular channels.

Twitch replaced the content on the page - which has 14.7 million followers - to show a list of other streamers after he left the platform for Mixer this month. Turns out that porn's quite popular, and so was clicking on Ninja's channel to see what the brewing scandal was before Twitch took action two hours later. This isn't the first time pornography and other questionable content has made it on to Twitch.

Twitch does not condone live streams of "sexually explicit content and activities, such as pornography, sexual acts, and sexual services, including solicitation and offers for such content", so it is now unknown how the account came into being or how it appeared on Ninja's channel. He says that the company has started experimenting with showing recommended content across Twitch, including on pages that are offline, so Ninja's channel has apparently not been the only one doing this. Then, it inadvertently promoted porn on the channel he left behind.

"For those who don't know, if you go to twitch.tv/ninja, they advertise other channels - they don't do this for anyone else that's offline by the way, just me".

"Well now, there was a porn account that was number one being recommended on my channel, and I have no say in any of this stuff", Tyler "Ninja" Blevins said in a video posted to Twitter. "This helps all streamers as it creates new community connections".

He also said, "The lewd content that appeared on the Ninja offline channel page grossly violates our terms of service".

Following Ninja's transition to Microsoft's Mixer, Ninja has taken to his personal Twitter account to discuss what has recently happened regarding his departure.

Having an account with pornography being recommended was a mistake, however, so they've permanently suspended the account in question while they investigate how such a mistake could happen.

The streamer criticized Twitch for using his profile to promote the pornographic material to his young audience.

Microsoft launched Mixer as a Twitch competitor in 2017. "So for anyone who saw that.I apologize, and I'm sorry".
