Florida hospital reports 'multiple stabbing victims,' Tallahassee cops say suspect in custody

At 8:37 a.m. Wednesday, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a stabbing near the 2000 block of Maryland Circle.

Responding officers found multiple stabbing victims and provided immediate medical attention, the Tallahassee Police said.

"Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare received five patients from the incident, not six as initially reported", the hospital said in a statement.

A hospital spokesperson says one victim is in serious condition, two are in fair condition and two others are in good condition. All five victims were taken to area hospitals.

Brown was involved in a dispute at the office before the stabbing, in which police said a pocket-knife-style weapon was used.

Ellen Mospens, who was at the scene of the incident, told reporters that she texted her husband to plead that he come get her from the scene, telling him a "massive stabbing" had taken place.

He did not leave the property, however, and 11 minutes later employees called 911 reporting that Brown had stabbed several people. That witness did not want to go on camera but said he knew something was wrong.

TPD was not able to confirm those details, though a press conference is scheduled for later Wednesday. A time has not yet been announced. Dyke Industries supplies doors and hardware for homes and businesses in 15 cities throughout the U.S. His fellow employees armed themselves with what they could and held Brown at bay during the attack.
