Democrat Joe Biden says Donald Trump must be impeached

Analysis How Biden is Bungling His Ukraine Response- And Does the New Whistleblower Matter

Democratic candidate with 'professional' link to CIA whistleblower is reportedly Joe Biden

Fox & Friends promoted a story on Friday claiming that the Central Intelligence Agency whistleblower who filed a complaint against President Donald Trump "absolutely" worked with Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden during the former vice president's time in the White House.

As an experienced Central Intelligence Agency official on the NSC with the deep knowledge of Ukraine that he showed in his complaint, it is possible that the whistleblower briefed Biden and likely accompanied him on Air Force Two during at least one of the six visits the former vice president made to the country.

Biden said Trump is "shooting holes in the Constitution" by asking foreign powers to interfere in the 2020 election.

The Times was responding to a letter sent late Wednesday from deputy campaign manager and communications director Kate Bedingfield, which said the Times had "an outsized hand in the spread of a baseless conspiracy theory advanced by Rudy Giuliani" that Biden "somehow did anything remotely inappropriate" to advance his son Hunter's business dealings with Ukraine.

House Democrats have begun impeachment proceedings against Trump based on a rough transcript of the July 25 telephone call.

The Biden campaign, in a letter to the social media giant, called the allegations "completely false", CNN reported.

According to Harbath's LinkedIn profile, the Facebook executive previously worked for the National Republican Senatorial Committee and Rudy Giuliani's 2008 presidential campaign.

"Our approach is grounded in Facebook's fundamental belief in free expression, respect for the democratic process, and the belief that, in mature democracies with a free press, political speech is already arguably the most scrutinized speech there is", Harbath wrote.

Last month, Facebook-which has drawn scrutiny for the misinformation that was posted on the platform ahead of the 2016 election-announced that it would "treat speech from politicians as newsworthy content that should, as a general rule, be seen and heard".

"That is different from a politician's own claim or statement-even if the substance of that claim has been debunked elsewhere", she wrote.
