However, Sony TV has recently issued an apology over the same and expressed their regret.
The controversy erupted when a question was asked in the show, hosted by actor Amitabh Bachchan, about the contemporaries of Aurangazeb, a Mughal emperor who ruled major parts of India in the 17th century.
FOllowing the outrage, Sony TV apologised for the incident on Twitter and tagged Amitabh Bachhan. While everything seems normal at the Malad office, the channel has now uploaded a video on its social media page apologising for its slip-up.
Apologizing for the error, Sony TV tweeted on Friday, "There was an inaccurate reference to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during Wednesday's KBC episode, due to inadvertence". "What coming generation going to learn from this?" wrote one Twitter user while another added, "My respect for the show and the anchor has taken a huge dip after I saw that the respectable #ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj is denigrated by being called by his first name only".
Creative guru Siddharth Basu under his production company Big Synergy launched Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2000 with superstar Amitabh Bachchan as the host. However, no contestant has manage to win it yet.
Bankrolled by Studio NEXT, Kaun Banega Crorepati 11, till now, has seen three crorepati winners in Sanoj Raj, Babita Tade and Gautam Kumar Jha.
