Danny Elfman Claims 'The Simpsons' Will End Soon

Showrunner For The Simpsons Shuts Down Claims It’s Coming To An End

QUIZ: How much do you know about The Simpsons?

Another said: "They'll never stop The Simpsons!".

Recently, longtime Simpsons composer Danny Elfman caused quite a stir when he told the Big Reviewski podcast that the animated series would soon conclude its record-setting running.

A frequent collaborator of filmmaker Tim Burton, Danny Elfman was busy in 2019 scoring films such as Dumbo and Men in Black: International, but his work on the Simpsons theme song is possibly the career highlight that most people know him for. "From what I've heard, it is coming to an end", Elfman commented.

"Ay caramba!" one fan replied. He also claimed that he does not know fact but he heard that this will be their past year on the channel.

The reassurance that the show isn't ending just yet comes directly from showrunner Al Jean, who took to Twitter on Thursday to debunk reports that claimed the end is near.

The Simpsons is an American animated show which is created by Matt Groening for Fox Broadcasting Company. Elfman revealed the show is nearing its end when asked to comment on the quality of the show, which some say has dropped in recent years.

In February, the longest-running primetime scripted show was renewed for another 2 seasons. The Simpsons has survived through casting hiccups, star deaths, behind-the-scenes firings, and on-screen controversies - among other things - but could it indeed become a victim of its own advanced age in the near future? "I wrote such a insane piece of music that I didn't expect anyone to ever hear because I really didn't think the show had a chance".
