Norris 'lets slip' McLaren F1 car launch date

McLaren F1 team has now confirmed the launch date for the teams' MCL35 F1 vehicle that will be presented at the McLaren Technology Centre on Thursday 13 Febuary.

In a three-minute clip, Norris is filmed showing viewers around the McLaren Technology Centre when he enters a meeting that is supposedly discussing details of the launch.

McLaren has confirmed it will unveil its 2020 Formula 1 auto on February 13, after Lando Norris "accidentally" revealed the launch date as part of a publicity stunt.

"I heard it was on the 13th of February", he claimed, prior to obtaining some silently reluctant feedbacks from those associated with the conference.

"It is right. Zak told me it's on [February] 13".

When told it was about the launch of McLaren's 2020 challenger, to which he had referred just moments before entering the room upon seeing a sign on the wall about it, he made comments that were not supposed to be public quite yet about this auto, the MCL35.

Norris, who finished 11th in his rookie season in Formula 1, will once again partner Carlos Sainz as McLaren look to build on its fourth place finish from 2019.
