Square Enix Gives Us Another Look At The Marvel’s Avengers Game

Marvel and Square Enix might be making us wait a little longer to suit up with the Avengers, but at least we're getting our first true gameplay glimpses at how Thor will look while he's wielding his hammer against the bad guys (and how Hulk will look while he's smashing stuff).

Those who pre-order Marvel's Avengers will get 72-hour early access to the beta version of the game, as well as Legacy Outfit and an exclusive nameplate.

Square Enix and developer Crystal Dynamics showed off a new "Embrace Your Powers" gameplay trailer today for its upcoming Marvel's Avengers, and in addition to some previously-seen cinematics, the clip delivers an all-new, in-game peek at how each of its core five playable characters can deploy their unique abilities in battle. It's now set to arrive on 4th September for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (and then, presumably, on PS5 and Xbox Series X down the line). Check out a new trailer and a shot of the Earth's Mightiest Edition below.

Additionally, players who preorder any version of the game at participating retailers get to try out a Marvel's Avengers beta.

You'll get Iron Man's prototype armour blueprints, a steelbook, Black Widow's belt buckle, a Mjolnir keychain, a six-inch Hulk bobblehead, the honorary Avenger pin, and a group photo taken at Avengers Day. Earth's Mightiest Edition includes 72-hour early access to the Deluxe version of the game before its release on September 4, 2020. To that end, we will spend this additional development time focusing on fine tuning and polishing the game to the high standards our fans expect and deserve.

In Marvel's Avengers players will control all the heroes at different points as well as in a co-op mode called Warzone Missions, and these can be played with up to four players. In a future with Super Heroes outlawed, a young Kamala Khan must reassemble the Avengers to stop AIM. Some of the aforementioned editions can be pre-ordered on the PlayStation Store right now, with just the base version coming in at £59.99/$59.99. If you pick up the physical version, it'll also come packaged with a one-month subscription to Marvel Unlimited.

The worldwide teams working on Marvel's Avengers sincerely appreciate the support you've shown us.
