The UK, and the rest of the world, is going through something that has never been seen ever before. Sports fixtures have been postponed, concerts cancelled, cafes, restaurants, community centres, and churches and more have been closed.
"The best thing we can do - apart from staying at home - is to use our skills and networks to say thank you to everyone who is supporting the NHS and risking their own health to help others during this pandemic".
And yet throughout all of this, there are key groups of people whose lives aren't on pause; people who are busier than ever.
The British Airways i360 is to turn its tower blue to thank NHS workers and to back the "Clap for our Carers" campaign. Which is why, this Thursday, we're coming together, for them.
You might have seen the hashtag #ClapForOurCarers trending on social media in the last few days.
At 8pm everyone is being encouraged to stand at their front doors, windows and balconies and give a collective round of applause to honour the NHS staff now working so hard to protect us all.
It is to show those working on the front line our appreciation for all their hard work and fight against the virus.
So tonight at 8pm millions of you joined us at 8pm to stand out in the street and clap the NHS workers who are keeping our country together.
