Fabregas joined Arsenal from FC Barcelona in 2003, where he was still part of the famed La Masia academy, and went to become the club's youngest ever to appear for the first team.

He became club captain in the 2008-09 season but returned to Barca in 2011 after protracted transfer saga.

'Once I decide to leave (Barcelona), Arsenal will have the first option of any other club and I can not speak to any other club for one week to see if Arsenal want me or not, ' Fabregas told the Arsecast podcast.

"I was so in love with the whole club".

"I was the captain, I always felt so much pressure on myself", Fabregas told the arseblog podcast.

"He really wanted to come, I did my best - I spoke to who I had to speak, I gave my opinion, I thought that he was a fantastic addition for us at that time". This was my absolute dream.

"I used to suffer, I used to spend sleepless nights suffering".

"And then you lose a game, you're in the bus like this destroyed and then you hear some players laughing, thinking about where they will be going out later". This was going on for a few years.

The now 32-year-old, playing for Monaco since his departure from Chelsea, says that he made a decision to return to Barcelona for many reasons while also openly saying that Robin Van Persie and Samir Nasri were the only players that was "on his level".

"I just felt for many things that Chelsea was the right solution at that time". We told them once, they know the situation if in one week they hadn't said anything.straight away I knew that probably they didn't want me back. "I needed people surrounding me that are living for football, giving absolutely everything for the game as I was".

"Seeing some behaviors from specific gamers or something similar to this made me feel I wished to inspect another thing".

Fabregas hit double-digit assists for Arsenal four times, including an absurd 20-assist season in 2007/08 and a 15-goal, 15-assist campaign in 2009/10.

"He was dying to come".

"I'm not a director, I see it from a player's point of view". Definitely this was my first option, in my mind Im telling everyone Im going to Arsenal this is what I want. Xabi Alonso was one of them. I mean I was living it day-to-day because he was texting me all the time.

In January this year, Aliko Dangote made it clear that he has the intention of becoming the owner of Arsenal and he will be prioritizing his desire possibly in the year 2021.

Fabregas also surprisingly mentioned former Socceroos goalkeeper Kalac when asked about his favourite Arsenal matches.
