Lautaro Martínez partnering Lionel Messi at Barcelona would certinaly be of benefit to the Argentina national side but it will be tough for the Camp Nou board to prise him from Inter Milan, Albiceleste boss Lionel Scaloni acknowledges. In 22 Serie A appearances in 2019-20 season, Martinez has netted 11 goals and overall, he has found the back of the net 16 times in as many as 31 matches across all competitions this campaign in the Inter jersey.
"He has everything - a lot of quality, very fast moves and also he's very good when he shoots on goal".
Martinez has scored 25 goals in 66 games for Inter since arriving at the club from Racing Club in 2018.
DAILY POST recalls that Martinez has drawn the interest of Barcelona in the past few weeks. While both the clubs are keeping a tab on Martinez's transfer updates, Barcelona are eyeing the South American player as a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez, who recently turned 33.
"Going to Barcelona and becoming a starter with Luis Suarez there is hard".
Inter are interested in Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti and the player has been included in the shortlist of the 3-4 players that the Nerazzurri would be happy to include in the deal for Lautaro Martinez, according to Spanish news outlet Sport. "I don't want to interfere, but if he does change clubs, I hope he does well". Deciding on whether to stay or not is very complicated, although if Messi called him, then it would be easy to think about it.
Speaking to RTVE, Martinez said: "Lautaro today is the fashionable striker, the one who every big team wants".
