Now, just weeks after the reopening, 85 coronavirus cases have been linked to Harper's.
Now, the health department is asking anyone who visited the bar to self-quarantine for 14-days. More than 80 people were infected after people crowded Harper's from June 12 to June 22.
Any individual who tests positive is urged to contact the Ingham County Health Department immediately.
The bar tried to tell customers waiting in line "to cover your faces and practice social distancing" by placing signs on the sidewalk, "according to the publication".
"Our supervision of the line on our stairs has been successful, but trying to get customers to follow our recommendations on the public sidewalk has been a challenge", the statement read. All who tested positive were said to be between the ages of 18 and 23.

"The multitude of people who were exposed and have become sick at harper's are now going to create you know other spot outbreaks you know reaching out from that", said Vail.
"We need a united force in our business community to say these rules are indeed important the rules will help us stay open because it has not gone away", she said.
The bar chose to temporarily shut down to install air purifiers and remove lines, according to the statement.
'When we have finished implementing these two strategies, we will have the most state-of-the-art neighborhood venue for you to visit safely, ' the bar said. They are scheduled to present the petition at a meeting on Wednesday.
The number of positive cases linked to the bar has risen rapidly since it was first reported Tuesday. Since Monday, 984 new cases have been reported across the state.
