Sam, who co-wrote the song with Jimmy Napes and Burna Boy, said in a statement: "This track has been a lovely release of emotions for me during this time".
Sam Smith took to his social media page to make the announcement with a video teasing the collaboration with Burna Boy.
"I've been a fan of Burna Boy for years now and so happy to have a tune with him".
Smith and Burna Boy wrote the song with Jimmy Napes.
The cross-continental collaboration happened within the last few months amid the pandemic.
With an extensive global following and several awards attached to his name, including the 2020 BET award for best worldwide act, Burna Boy hitting the studio with Sam should not come as much of a surprise. They have won four GRAMMY Awards®, an Oscar, a Golden Globe and three BRIT Awards. They added, "Don't worry though, there will be an album this year, I promise!" It was followed by "How Do You Sleep?", which has amassed over 8 million units and 1.5 billion global streams. "I will be renaming my album and pushing back the release date - both of which are to be confirmed at this time".
