Cardi B files for divorce from rapper Offset amid cheating rumors

Amid quarantine, rapper Cardi B and her husband, Offset were spending a ton of quality time together. The 27-year-old entertainer has filed for divorce from the Migos superstar, People magazine reported on Tuesday (September 15). Cardi, real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, is listed as the plaintiff while Offset (né Kiari Kendrell Cephus) is listed as the defendant.

According to court documents, Cardi claims the marriage is "irretrievably broken" with "no prospects for a reconciliation".

TMZ claims the documents also state that the "WAP" singer wants full custody of their daughter Kulture.

She is seeking child support money from Offset, as well as requesting that he pay her legal expenses. She reportedly states in the divorce documents that they're now separated, and "there are no prospects for a reconciliation".

After being married for three years, the couple has parted ways amid a cheating scandal that Offset was embroiled in. The "I Like It" rapper also expressed the desire to have primary custody of her and her husband's daughter, who celebrated her second birthday a few weeks ago. The couple also once split after one year of marriage back in 2018 amid allegations of Offset's infidelity.

A contested divorce usually stipulates that both parties involved have not come to an agreement regarding an equal division of assets, which then requires judicial oversight.
