When asked where the virus came from, he said that from Wuhan's lab.

A Chinese virologist has claimed that the COVID virus was made in government-controlled laboratory in Wuhan. Dr Li-Meng said that she learned through local doctors and some intelligence that the virus was not born in the meat market but was manufactured in the laboratory.

Dr Li-Meng Yan is a scientist and had been looking into the novel coronavirus since 2019. she was working at the Hong Kong School of Public Health when she stumbled on the evidence of coronavirus being made in a lab.

'No one responded, people are scared of the government and they are waiting to collaborate with the government and World Health Organization to get more benefits to become safe but this is [was] something urgent, ' Dr Li-Meng said.

According to Li-Meng Yan, she had to run away to the United States after being threatened by the Chinese authorities when she tried to raise an alarm. It has been speculated by health experts, scientists and epidemiologists that the virus may have originated from a wet-food market in Wuhan, China. However, the scientific community across the world has suggested that the COVID emerged from a bat-borne virus. The Chinese virologist claimed that during her research she came across that coronavirus was developed in a laboratory in China. Based on that, after lab modification becomes a novel virus'.

The claim was made by Chinese virologist Li-Meng Yan, who has supposedly fled China after becoming a whistleblower in the case.

The virologist said she is working on a scientific report since January i.e. before leaving Hong Kong along with a small group of top scientists and will soon publish the findings.

She said she reported back that cases appeared to be rising exponentially but was told to "keep silent and be careful".

"The genome sequence is like our human fingerprint". So, based on this you can recognise and identify this thing. She also alleged the Chinese authorities of employing people to spread rumours about her and deleting all her information.

Dr Li-Meng said that even if you have no biology knowledge, you can identify the origin of the coronavirus by its shape. If not, it will be life threatening for everyone, ' she added.
