Donald Trump attacks Tony Fauci calling him a 'Democrat' and 'Cuomo's friend'

Dr. Fauci says he ‘was not invited’ to Trump’s coronavirus briefing

Trump Mocks Fauci Again With Imaginary Quote But Will 'Keep Him Around'

At least initially, a widely held belief existed that HIV/AIDS affected only "one community" and "would not become a global problem", as it eventually did, Fauci said during a "fireside chat" hosted by Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Fauci - who received the Presidential Medal of Honor from former President George W. Bush - also mentioned to CNN that he has never publicly endorsed any political candidate during his almost five decades of public service.

The president himself referred to as Fauci an "alarmist" throughout an interview with Chris Wallace on "Fox Information Sunday".

"They sound very simple, but people are not doing that and that's why we have an uptick in cases", he said.

"If I'm a young, healthy person, I might think, 'This disease is not going to bother me, ' so they're not going to participate in measures created to limit the spread of the virus", he said.

For the second time Thursday, Trump also cited dubious numbers claiming that "85 per cent" of people who wear masks catch the coronavirus.

These comments come after the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned that the spread of coronavirus from small household gatherings is becoming an "increasing threat".

Trump continued to complain that he's taken heat for hosting large rallies without social distancing where many of his supporters do not wear masks. 'They keep saying nobody wears masks'.

"We're very, very pleased that the president did so well when he was infected with the coronavirus, but there are also a lot of people who are his age and his weight which did not do as well as the president did".

The president also boasted that Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who formerly represented North Carolina in the House, didn't fear getting the virus when the president was contagious. "I just tested positive".

'I don't want the credit, but our vice president worked 24 hours a day, Mike Pence, ' Trump said. "Cuomo did the worst job of any governor in the United States", Trump said, which prompted boos from the crowd.

"That is actually an unlucky reality that's going to trigger clearly some concern about everybody who appears to be like ahead to the vacations and interacting with relations that they have not seen shortly".
