The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has also today been notified of 3 additional deaths related to Covid-19 nationally.

35 cases have been reported at Manatee County correctional facilities. In July, about 8% of tests were coming back positive.

Sunday's 12 cases increased the overall total to 1,593.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. That update lists 1,166 current hospitalizations.

During a morning call with reporters Friday, Tennessee Health Commissioner Lisa Piercey said her team is keeping a close eye on the hospital numbers.

Sunday, Miami-Dade reported 324 people current hospitalized from COVID-19, a decrease of two from Saturday, and 93 COVID-19 patients in Intensive Care Unit beds, an increase of four. Over the last week, an average of 4.4% of test results were new positive cases.

At 5.19%, the positivity rate of the 70,881 samples tested in the past day was lowest in over three months. The number came after more than 30,000 tests were processed Saturday.

Florida positivity rate remained at 13.18%.

Florida says it figures positive test rate by calculating "the number of people who test positive for the first time divided by all the people tested that day, excluding people who have previously tested positive".
