Upon discovering that the young girl isn't so young anymore (she's now a 40-year-old Isla Fisher), Eleanor does her best at making her find her magic once again. Starring fan-favourites like Isla Fisher and Jillian Bell, the trailer promises a ideal holiday movie for the classic, fairy tale lovers.
Determined to show that fairy godmothers are still needed, Eleanor tries to help a girl whose wish was ignored, only to discover that she grew into a woman named Mackenzie (Isla Fisher) who, having lost her husband years ago, grew disillusioned with the idea of a "happily ever after".
Directed by Sharon Maguire (Bridget Jones's Diary), the film also stars Santiago Cabrera, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Jane Curtin, June Squibb, Jillian Shea Spaeder, Willa Skye, Artemis Pebdani, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Stephnie Weir. It is produced by Justin Springer, Diane L while Sabatini, Tom Pollock, Ivan Reitman and Amie Karp served as executive producers. It's always fun to see Disney poke fun at its own platitudes and acknowledge that fantasy concepts would feel so out of place in our reality.
In other Disney-related news, the studio announced last month a fresh new hip hop adaption of Cinderella. That and give Fisher's Mackenzie the fairy tale of her dreams.
Set in the avant-garde street-sneaker subculture of New York City, the modern day fairytale will introduce us to El (Chosen Jacobs), an aspiring sneaker designer from Queens who works as a stock boy in the shoe store that once belonged to his late mother. Disney+ released the trailer on social media, reminding subscribers that the movie is slated to release on the platform on December 4th.
