In addition to writing all of the songs for the musical drama, Sia co-wrote the screenplay and directed the movie, her feature film directorial debut.

Songs From and Inspired By the Motion Picture, the 14-track album includes songs penned specially for the film and inspired by it.
Sia previously released the singles "Together" and "Courage to Change" from Music. Sia's music is integral to the story of the film as the characters examine the fragile bonds that hold us together and, through fantastical musical sequences, imagine a world where those bonds can be strengthened in times of great challenge.
Music follows the story of the eponymous autistic teenager Music, played by Maddie Ziegler. Zu struggles at first to care for Music, a special-needs teens, but with an inward journey of discovery - with assistance from a friendly neighbor, who possesses helpful advice from experience - soon puts her on an eye-opening path.
Music releases in a limited number of IMAX locations in February 2021.
