Union Health Ministry in its daily vaccination update on Friday said the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 5.5 crore with over 23 lakh inoculated in the last 24-hours.
"Remember, a 95% effective vaccine still means we could expect to see infections in around 5 of every 100 people who get the vaccine", she added.
Although the state is opening eligibility, DSHS is asking providers to still prioritize seniors age 80 and older when scheduling appointments and bumping them to the front of the line at a vaccine distribution site, whether or not they have an appointment. Additionally, the public will be able to enroll in the Texas Public Health Vaccine Scheduler to identify upcoming vaccine clinics hosted by DSHS or a participating local health department and will be notified when new clinics and appointments become available.

The Texas Department of State Health Services announced that all Texas adults will become eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine beginning on Monday, March 29.
