Are you perfectly healthy? Well, now's your chance.

Union Health Ministry in its daily vaccination update on Friday said the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 5.5 crore with over 23 lakh inoculated in the last 24-hours.

"Remember, a 95% effective vaccine still means we could expect to see infections in around 5 of every 100 people who get the vaccine", she added.

Although the state is opening eligibility, DSHS is asking providers to still prioritize seniors age 80 and older when scheduling appointments and bumping them to the front of the line at a vaccine distribution site, whether or not they have an appointment. Additionally, the public will be able to enroll in the Texas Public Health Vaccine Scheduler to identify upcoming vaccine clinics hosted by DSHS or a participating local health department and will be notified when new clinics and appointments become available.

"This week's ramp up in vaccine delivery is welcome news".

The Texas Department of State Health Services announced that all Texas adults will become eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine beginning on Monday, March 29.

As mentioned in the report by Reuters, back in December, Amazon had also asked the United States government to prioritise vaccination for essential workers such as data centre staff, warehouse workers, grocery store employees and others.

"We worked hard to vaccinate Minnesotans sooner than we originally projected, and we have made tremendous progress getting vaccines to Minnesotans who need them most", Tschann said in a release Thursday. Even social media conglomerate, Facebook Inc.is working to help the Unites States' government get people vaccinated for the virus.

According to DSHS data, 9,319,666 vaccine doses have been administered in Texas as of March 22, which shakes out to more than 6.3 million with at least one dose and nearly 3.2 million who are fully vaccinated.

PHAC is projecting the death rate will be relatively lower than it was with past caseload spikes because some of the most vulnerable people - long term care home residents, seniors, Indigenous adults - have been vaccinated.
