The five-time Grammy victor returned to the studio to record a new track, "I Don't", on Sunday's episode of her E! show, Mariah's World. She also went on vacation with Bryan Tanaka, where they shared a super hot kiss and confirmed their relationship!
Mariah Carey seems to be using her recent breakup with Australian billionaire James Packer as creative inspiration.
Mariah teased the song on Instagram on Sunday (29Jan17), sharing a short graphic of the words "I Do" being crossed out by red lipstick and replaced with the words "I Don't". After recording the song in the studio, Mariah took her massive 35-carat engagement ring off and left it in the studio!
Their beach trip was filmed for the show and Bryan admitted to her he had been "holding back for so long so many feelings that I had to ignore for good reason".
"I Don't" is going to be Mariah Carey's next great song.
"Carey sings, "'Cause when you love someone, you just don't treat them bad, you messed up all we had. And if your brain is already making connections between Mimi's enduring relationship with the words "I don't", rest assured you're not alone.
The full song, entitled "I Don't", is set to premiere February 3. When he directly asked her, "Are you really gonna marry this guy?" she didn't have an answer and instead she chose to take her big feels to the studio and channel them through song. It might not be as catchy as, say, "Heartbreaker" or "Always Be My Baby", but it could be a sign that Carey is returning with new music after her disastrous New Year's Eve performance in Times Square, which led to a self-imposed break from the public eye.
