The New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder are finalizing a trade centered on Steven Adams.

"Deal has a lot of moving parts and still has work to finish, per sources", he added.

The first-round pick heading to OKC is the lottery-protected 2023 selection belonging to the Denver Nuggets that was sent to New Orleans on draft night in a trade for RJ Hampton, according to Wojnarowski.

Under the original deal, Milwaukee would have sent New Orleans a package that included Eric Bledsoe, George Hill and three first-round picks (a 2020 first from IN and unprotected firsts IN 2025 and 2027) IN exchange for Holiday, sources said.

Wojnarowski later confirmed that the Thunder have "agreed in principle" to move Adams to the Pelicans for future draft picks.

The Thunder, with Paul George and Russell Westbrook, previous year became the first team in NBA history to trade two reigning All-NBA players in the same summer. Perhaps, this deal will get folded into the Jrue Holiday trade with Eric Bledsoe and/or George Hill going to the Thunder (who'd surely look to flip another productive guard for even more picks). However, as things stand, Adams would likely link up with rising sensation and 2019 No 1 draft pick Zion Williamson in the Pelicans' starting frontcourt. The Cavaliers would have also received a future second-round pick from the Bucks.
