National Football League won't require masks for vaccinated players, staff

Andrew Cuomo says NY not ready to ditch face masks - despite CDC announcement

Will retailers still require you to wear a COVID mask?

"We encourage customers to follow the guidance of health officials, including, as appropriate, CDC guidelines that advise customers who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear masks while shopping", the company wrote on its website Friday.

That means masks still are required in NY state when a person can't maintain six feet of social distance - even outside and even if the person is vaccinated.

"We serve millions of Americans every week and believe our policy of requiring associates and customers to wear masks in our stores has helped protect them during the pandemic, and we're not lifting those measures at this time", Walmart said in a statement.

In general, the American Constitution Society said, courts uphold states' rights to enforce their own face mask mandate or get rid of it, as they see fit. However, coronavirus rules for nursing homes and long-term-care facilities in the state - which include mask requirements during visits - will still remain in place after June 2.

And even fully vaccinated individuals will likely still have to wear masks in certain public settings - such as airplanes and hospitals. "That will remain their choice".

"Anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in indoor and outdoor activities, large or small, without wearing a mask or physical distancing, " CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said during a White House briefing.

Nothing in the governor's directive requires private businesses to confirm vaccination status.

The health agency's revised guidelines are "very big news for us, particularly if anybody's been in Florida in the middle of the summer with a mask on", Chapek told investors in an earnings call on Thursday after the CDC change in policy was revealed.

Harmons will be removing the mask requirement and signs in all its stores. Vaccinated guests are also still welcome to continue wearing face coverings.

However, others said that given the science and data behind an effective vaccine- this step makes sense. And Hawaii Governor David Ige said: "We are unable to determine who is vaccinated and who is not vaccinated".

Joe Biden said it was 'a great day for America'.

To be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the virus, means two weeks must have passed after receiving the second shot in a two-dose series, or two weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine, according to the CDC. Many had already been ditching mask orders in recent weeks. The tourist town of Branson, Missouri, did so early last month after voting out several mask supporters. "It was dividing our community".

New Mexico has one of the nation's highest COVID-19 vaccine administration rates. "We heard loud and clear from voters that they wanted the mask mandate repealed". According to the CDC, 119 million people have been fully vaccinated in the U.S. so far.
